Your 1st Time to the Nutcracker

I had been wanting to see the Nutcracker with Daddy for a long time! He finally said we could get tickets this year. I looked them up and found 2 front row seats for Thursday night. I went ahead and got them and decided you'd just sit on my lap. A few people didn't think you'd do well sitting through it, but I wanted to try because I thought you would like it. Especially since we were going to be so close.

We got there late because I had to work, and of all the times you are never hungry, you picked tonight to want like10 pieces of pizza! Even though we were late, they started a little late, so we didn't miss anything.

As soon as we sat down the lights went off, the music started, and the chain went up. You were sitting in my lap and Daddy was next to me. I had thought about being able to do something like this for a long time, so as soon as the curtain went up, I got teary eyed. This was something that was perfect for me!

Your sat completely still and quiet. You were mesmerized. Tout didn't move during the whole 1st Act. I was whispering the story in your ear. You were just as good for the 2nd Act. During the 3rd Act, you waves your arms around like the ballerinas did!  By the middle of the 3rd Act, you started to get a little antsy, but you were still sooooo good!

At the end, you even told the girls they did good. You also saw the nutcrackers they were selling. I told Daddy that I wanted to get you one, since this was a special time for us. You picked out the pink one!

You walked all the way back to the car, fought with Daddy because you wanted to open your nutcracker, but he said you had to wait until you got home. Instead, tout smuggled the boxed up nutcracker and feel right to sleep!

I couldn't have imagined a better 1st family trip to see the Nutcracker!

Last night you decided you wanted to wipe Mommy's hiney.  I appreciate you taking care of me, and sure love you! :)

You've just recently decided you'll start taking bites of new things, and about the 20th time we've made it, you finally decided to eat the Mac n Cheese mixed with Ground Beef.

You take your hands, put them on both of my cheeks and say, "Listen".  You do this because I do that to you when you are not listening to me.  I stop you, put my hands on your cheeks and tell you to listen, so that you can hear what I'm trying to tell you.

Nomit, Priston, and Muke Stee...Oh My!

I want to remember all the things you do!  I started this several times, in several different ways.  I pledge to keep up with this one!

You call your grandma Brewer Nomit.  The reason you do is because when you were a baby, Nomit would sing The Muppets "Manah Manah" song to you.  Being called Grandma didn't quite sit with her, and since she always sang that song to you, I suggested you call her that.  As you started to talk and try to say it, it came out to be Nomit, and it stuck! 

When you would say "Come on", it would come out "Mock".  So you would say, "Mock Nomit".  Which was one of the best phrases! :)

Aunt Lisa, Uncle Kurt and the boys were out over the summer and were here for you 2nd birthday.  Aunt Lisa gave you Brave.  Shortly after you started watching Brave, you would call it "Priston", which meant Princess.  So now all princesses are "Pristons".  I believe that came from Triston being out here and it must sound similar to you.

When Daddy built you your swing set, Maylee learned to climb up the tower with you.  You would get frustrated with Maylee because she was in your way.  I told you to say, "Excuse me, Maylee".  "Excuse me" came out as "Muke Stee". 

When you burp, you say, "Piggy, Muke Stee".  When you toot, you say, "Tootsie, Muke Stee".  When someone is in your way, you say, "MUKE STEE".

11.18.13:  You did not want to go to bed, so you told me you had to go potty.  I helped you, then told you to go lay back in bed with Daddy because I had to potty.  I got done and you were laying in my spot on the bed, on my pillow.  Before I could even say anything, you said, "My turn", because it was your turn in my spot.  I laid in the little area on the outside, and you said, "My turn, MOOK STEE".  I asked you if you wanted me to sleep by Daddy, and you told me yes.
